BSI FRANCE Training Manager

Job Purpose:

  • To drive growth for the commercial BSI Training business within France and its cluster of countries
  • To support and promote growth initiatives across the Southern Europe Region
  • To ensure that the high profile and quality of the BSI commercial training business is maintained in planning and delivering training courses

Dimensions/Performance Measures

Business planning:

  • Ensuring that forward business plans are in place to drive the growth of the training business. This will include timely budget planning and introduction of new products and services using a business case approach.
  • Continuous preparation for and implementation of plans for the open training course schedules.
  • Effective resource management to match budget and forecasted aspirations.
  • Provide input to Marketing so that marketing plans are in place and are aligned to the training budget aspirations and delivery profiles
  • Ensure that the sales team structure and reward strategy is in alignment with and support the growth aspirations of a profitable commercial training business.
  • Continual monitoring of the sales to delivery profile to ensure that appropriate adjustments to the marketing plan and business forecasts are implemented, whilst at the same time maximising the profit opportunity for the Group.
  • Accurate forecasting of training business financial aspects.
  • Ensure that competent tutor / trainer resource is available to match the needs of the budget and growth aspirations.
  • Effective management and monitoring of the delivery team to ensure a best in class service to customers and optimal cost effective utilisation.
  • Effective management and monitoring of other training resources such as course venues and  materials to ensure best in class service is delivered to customers
  • Ensure effective continual performance of the operational activities (e.g. notifications to customers, supply of information and materials for trainers and venues, collation of course data, post course activities such as examination processing and certificate issue.
  • Ensure effective use is made of the BSI Training Business Management Platform (CRM).
  • Responsibility for governance and certification issues as affect the commercial training business
  • Ensuring that customer feedback is continually collated, reviewed and acted upon

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

  • Customer focused
  • An active, hands-on and organized person
  • Very good command of English and fluent in French.
  • Knowledge and skills in marketing, including PR, gained through formal training or practice
  • Team spirit: An understanding of, and commitment to, the value and benefits of teamwork, and the ability to work within, and provide support to a team.
  • A sound understanding of the needs of a commercial training organisation.
  • Ability to employ information technology to enhance the work of the department, including CRM, SAP, Microsoft packages, email, internet and databases. 
  • The jobholder needs to have excellent organizational and managerial skills to control their own workload and that of others. 
  • Ability to apply a logical and practical approach to problem solving and deal with problems as constructively and effectively as they occur.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, in order to produce, initiate and compose routine correspondence.
  • Ability to supervise and lead, guide, motivate and support teams.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to manage a varied, often unpredictable, workload, and organise and prioritise own work of the others, in a pressurised environment, with competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to develop, manage and review general business processes and systems.
  • A desire to maintain and improve standards whilst understanding the need to manage cost and achieve budgeted accounts.
